Inauguration Day!

Just adding my voice to the chorus....

What a joyous day!  What a magnificent speech!  Now let's roll up our sleeves and help him get this country back on track.  Yes, we can.

Oh, and who forgot to give the Chief Justice his Ritalin?  How long do you think it will be before the wingnuts in the blogosphere start saying that Obama isn't really President because he didn't recite the oath properly?

Right, like they need my help to go nuts over something like this.... :)

Someone on one of the news channels (I think it was PBS) pointed out that Obama became president at noon even though he hadn't taken the oath of office yet. This would suggest the oath isn't what's important.

How disappointing for the wingnuts....

Thanks for the info, Sam.

Don't know if it's actually true or now. Pundits are often wrong.

Which turned out to be the case, I guess. He redid the oath of office today.

Did he? I missed that. Thanks for the update.

Clarence Thomas has one job every four years and he screwed that up!!! LOL

I give it...wait...I could probably find a wingnut site with those exact words now...right after they denounce him for being born in a foreign country. You know, Hawaii!

Yes, it was impressive and historic. Think I'll enjoy the change of air around these parts... :)

Not Clarence Thomas, John Roberts. Thomas is an Associate Justice.
Jan. 20th, 2009 08:35 pm (UTC)
True, but David asked whose job it was to bring Roberts his Ritalin. Considering the joke as Thomas not saying thing in session and just regurgitating Scalia's opinions, he needs to have some job. That job is to bring Roberts' ritalin...

Not a great joke, granted. :)

Chris Wallace on FOX questioned it an hour after the oath was administered.

They must be getting slow at Fox. They used to go nuttier faster.

I see that since the ratings were dropping, Rup decided to shake things up. Tossed Colmes and Brit Hume. Just like the GOP. People don't like our ideas so instead of actually becoming 'fair and balanced' we'll cater to the even more nutty wingnuts. Yeah, that'll put us on top... Watch out Greta...

Well, of course he did....

"He's not president because the CJ FU the oath."
You KNOW the wingers are screaming it right now....

Typical Republican. They even FU something as simple as the Oath of Office.

Re: "He's not president because the CJ FU the oath."
There are folks over on Fox New blogs claiming that it was Obama who screwed up the oath. Idiots.

Our ultimate plot against Obama went off beautifully! By him not reciting the pledge properly, we are now in position to take over. Muuuhhhhaaaa! *rubs his hands together in evil scientist fashion*

The flub-up aside, I wasn't too impressed with the speech. The most memorable line was his appeal to hostile nations offering an open hand of help if they would unclench their fist. Isn't that an old Chinese fortune cookie saying?

I know he is a rookie and all, but rhetoric is not his strong point. Hillary Clinton's speech at the DNC was much more inspiring.

I think you were listening to some other speech, Mark. The rest of the world, including pundits on the right, agree with me on this one.
