This Year's Blogging

Last year, my first full year of blogging, I set out to post everyday, just to see if I could do it.  And I made it through April or May doing just that.  After that, I stopped worrying about it, but I still did my best to post as often as possible.  We're a week and half into 2009 and I've already missed two days.  It's not that I don't care, or that I've decided that I don't like blogging.  But I have decided that it's going to be more about quality than quantity this year.  I'll post when I have something to say and won't post just for the sake of doing so.  Life's too short.

I came to the realization several years ago that while I'm a first class political junky, even I can't blog daily about any one topic/area. I suppose i could do a blog that was: Hockey, politics, SF/F, writing.... but I think 2/3rds of it would bore most people.

Sadly i don't blog on politics or hockey nearly as much as i would like...

I posted about politics quite a bit during the campaign, but even I, a full-fledged political junkie, got sick of it after a while. It's hard to write something interesting every day.

We totally understand, David. Go out and have fun with your writ'n and bird'n and having fun. We'll be right here cook'n and clean'n and sweat'n waiting for you to come home. It's ok. Really... *wink*

All kinding aside... post when you can. Not many people can post every day and have something interesting or insightful to say. Keep you sanity and we look forward to hearing more from you as the year goes onward.

Thanks, Mark. There really is a "guilt" factor with all of this. I sometimes find myself thinking about posting the way I used to think about calling my grandfather. "It's been a while, and I really ought to call, even though I don't want to...." As I say, life's too short....
