Coming Up For Air

Sometimes I will look for anything I might do other than write.  If there are household chores that need attention, I'll leap at the chance to do them.  I'll find all sorts of distractions; anything at all to avoid my current book.

And then there are those other times, when I neglect everything else in life because all I want to do is work on the current WIP.  I'm in this mode right now.  I meant to post on Tuesday and Wednesday, but I couldn't tear myself away from my new project.  I'm having a blast.  I'm getting a lot written, and I love how it's coming out so far.  I'm not going to tell you any more than that because keeping the ideas pent up inside is part of what's giving me so much momentum each day.

But I wanted to check in, say hi, let you all know I'm still alive.  And now, if you don't mind, I'm headed back to my shiny new toy.

*Waves, then vanishes again.*

YOUR laundry?! Ha! I'm currently neglecting MY laundry.

Yes, it's a great feeling, though today's experience was a little different...

Ah yes, it is a shiny new toy, isn't it? Once I get some traction in a new story it's like a new love affair. Everything is wonderful. By mid-book, not so much. By the end of the book I'm ready for it to be gone, though I do have fond memories or moonlit walks and torrid evenings at the keyboard.

Happy creating!

Yeah, some books get old pretty quickly. This one won't, I think. But I did have a bumpy go of it today.

What ever happened to that writer guy that used to post on LJ a long time ago? You know, Monday...

Have fun with your muse. They can be flighty and sporadic but you can't ignore them when they want your attention.

Sounds like most women... :) See ya.

Hmmmm. Think I'll stay away from the last comment. But yes, the muse can be fickle.

Yes, I've always said you were a wise man. Thought about it after I posted it and decided against editing it and let the chips fall... :)
