-- Gasp -- Another Coincidence!

Yesterday we learned that U.S. Forces in Anbar Province, Iraq will be pulled out on -- what a coincidence! -- Monday, the opening day of the Republican National Convention.  Today, just hours before Barack Obama gives his much anticipated acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, and just a few days before the RNC, the Bush Administration has announced that economic growth in the second quarter of this year was MUCH better than anticipated.  Wow!  Turns out the Republicans didn't mess everything up after all!  Things are just fine now!  So it's okay to give John McCain the White House for George Bush's third term.

Bush and Cheney:  They're like little kids who break their Mom's favorite vase, put it back together with super glue and duct tape and twine, and hope no one will notice that it was ever shattered.  Right.  Good luck with that, boys....

To quote a famous philospher: "Don't you love it when a plan comes together?" *pops his cigar into his mouth* *grins*

I would've preferred if Dubya's cabinet would've responded like another famous philosopher when ever he came up with another of his 'brilliant' ideas...

"What you talkin' about, fool?" :)

I'm pretty sure that Bush and Cheney's favorite philosopher is P.T. Barnum: "There's a sucker born every minute."

And, it's only August. I can't wait until October when the numbers come in and I can buy the Rolls Royce I've always wanted with my surplus check....

Right. Hold your breath. Go ahead; I dare ya.

Too bad they're getting away with it.

I'm not convined that they will in the end, Sam.

Maybe not, after last night.

As insiders from Bush's WH have point out repeatedly, the political arm is in control of everything: foreign policy, domestic policy, administration, everything. They've turned the DOJ into an enforcement arm of the GOP. Why should the military be any different?

Welcome to Banana Republicanism.

Right on the mark, Rick. Thanks for the comment. Cool book cover, by the way.

I think John Goodman may be a strong contender for a BOW award. He told a newspaper reporter that nobody in the United States is technically uninsured, because everyone has access to hospital emergency rooms.

I saw that, Linda! And he's the top contender right now.

Well I for one am so unconvinced. I've been feelin' it in the pocketbook ever since he stole office the first time around. Sorry to the elephants, but from a purely financial standpoint alone I know where I'll be putting my vote, boys!

As for the rest of what they've done to our country -- oi -- don't get me started ...

You and me both, Fi. Let's hope there are enough people out there feeling the same way.

Not that I'd wish it on New Orleans again, but Monday the forces of nature may give everyone another type of reminder about how well this administration responds... right around the time Bush is supposed to be addressing the convention.

Is that a coincidence or a Democratic plot to subvert the GOP Convention? You decide. *hehe*
Aug. 29th, 2008 03:29 pm (UTC)
Mark, if Dems had that kind of power there wouldn't have been any hanging chads back '00....

Let's hope that the storm fizzles and doesn't do much damage wherever it makes landfall. I actually heard someone on television yesterday saying, in effect, "Gee, hope it hits Mexico and not us."
