Patience, I Hear, Is a Virtue

My email server is down and I'm shocked and dismayed to find myself totally debilitated by this.  I feel as though I've been cut off from the world, though of course I haven't.  My phone works.  The internet connection works.  I assume that my mailman will stop by later.  But I keep on having to resist the urge to try the server again, to see if they've managed to fix the problem in the last seven minutes.  Pathetic.

Update on my daughter:  She's still coughing and still carrying a low-grade fever.  It's hard to say if the antibiotics have had any effect yet.  She certainly doesn't seem to be getting worse, but as of yet, I see no evidence that she's getting better.

Patience has never been one of my virtues, and today it seems I'm being tested on several fronts.

Patience is not one of my strong suits, either. I can forget about time while I'm with my horses, but...in general, I like to see immediate results. :/

I've been thinking about your daughter. Glad she's no worse, but I hope she turns the corner and shows some obvious improvement soon. Is she missing school?

Good luck with the email server - that drives me nuts, too.

Thanks for the good wishes, Jen. Yes, she's missing school, though her teachers have been great about getting assignments to her so that she can keep up.

And the server issues seem to be resolving themselves, though only after I spent an hour and a half dealing with them. Aaaarrrgghhh!!!

Pnieumonia is a tough one to knock out. make sure she's sleeping, drinking a buttload of liquids (water better than juices) and taking those meds.

My sympathies to you all--parenthood is a tough one, and they don't give us overtime or vacation pay.

Thanks for the sympathy, Sherwood, and also for the reminder. I just went and told her to drink something. (The scotch and bourbon are locked away so I *think* we're all right....)
