If My Book Was a Movie...

The Dark-Eyes' War, by David B. CoeSo, about a month ago I got this email from a guy named Marshal Zeringue, who invited me to come and post on his blog, which is called "My Movie, the Book."  Marshal has authors guest blog about who they would like to have star in a hypothetical movie version of their most recent book.  And since I had The Dark-Eyes' War coming out, Marshal invited me to participate.  It was great fun to write, and the post is now up on Marshal's sites.  Visit them here and here.  And enjoy the post.

Grinsa: For some reason...and I know it's not in the character description, but I always pictured him as a paler, thinner Orris. :) Maybe even with a bit of Dan Blocker (Hoss from Bonanza) in him. Rarely angers but when he does...

Cresenne: Jennifer Connelly...because who doesn't want her in a movie? :)

Tiryna: Seems more like an Angelina Jolie type to be, at least in attitude.

Enly: Yep. About 20 actors in hollywood could play him.

Besh: Ernest Borgnine (although I think the Kingsley choice would be interesting)

Director: Tim Burton Go wild! :) Maybe Alfonso Cuarón. I think he'd make it interesting.

Well, that was fun. Good luck with the book, David. Read it and was happy with how it worked, mostly. :) (Darn overly-critical readers!!!)

Am curious...at what point in the process...and, of course, answer or not...did you decide on the very end of the book and how that would happen? Just a time frame. Just struck me when I read it and wondered how long you had been thinking of it. (And will use the JK Rowling example where she had the last chapter of the last book written very early on in the process).

Thanks for the casting input! Can't say I was every much of a Ernest Borgnine fan, so that one doesn't work for me, but the rest are intriguing. Sorry you didn't like *everything* about the book, but I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it.

I decided on the ending almost immediately upon conceiving the series. Yup. Knew all along where things would wind up. Eventually there may be more to be said and done....

Cool...about the tease for more... :)

Which reminds me...Lon Tobyn!!! ;)

To be fair, I don't like everything about just about everything. I'm a Democrat. :)
