A Post About Real Life Stories

Today’s post can be found at http://magicalwords.net, the group blog on the business and craft of writing fantasy that I maintain with fellow authors Faith Hunter, Misty Massey, A.J. Hartley, and Stuart Jaffe, among others. The post is called “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” and it’s about the strange things that happen in real life that don’t always translate well to fiction. I hope you enjoy it. Oh, and by the way, there’s a new contest up on my website: http://www.DavidBCoe.com. Visit the site and maybe you’ll win a signed copy of my upcoming release, The Dark-Eyes’ War!

Yep,

If you put those in any of your books...no one would believe it.... :)

Hey, I see they have the pre-order button up for Dark-Eyes at Amazon. Cool.

Exactly! And yet, they're all true. It's not fair, really.... And yes, the "buy" buttons and "pre-order" buttons are back, much to my relief. Thanks!

Saw the commercial during the Super Bowl for the Robin Hood movie. It looks pretty great! Did you see it and did it match your vision of the story? Or is matching the director's vision something that is important for a novelization?

I missed the new trailer! My wife called my attention to it but I was doing something in the kitchen and by the time I looked up, it was over. The first trailer looked very good, and it matched much of what I'd imagined. I did have stills from which to work, so that helped a little. And yeah, given the rewrites I've just been doing, I can tell you that matching the novelization to the studio's vision for the movie is VERY important....
