Have You Seen This?

Did any of you see this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBuG2TdgMn0&feature=channel

Yesterday, President Obama went to the Republican House Conference, gave a speech, and then answered questions from GOP House members for over an hour.  The give and take was contentious but polite.   It was also fascinating.  And at the end of the day, Congressional aides on the Republican side were questioning whether they had made a mistake by keeping the C-Span cameras rolling.   Every time a GOP questioner tried to use party talking points in a question, Obama corrected them -- schooled them, some might say.  He made Mike Pence (Indiana), Marsha Blackburn (Tennessee), Joe Pryce (Georgia), and Jeb Hensarling (Texas) look like political hacks (though he did call Jeb “Jim” a few times), and he did it all with charm and humor and eloquence.  He had no notes, no teleprompter, no aides whispering in his ear.  He was thinking on his feet the entire time.  And he ran circles around them.  Don’t believe me?  Watch if for yourself.   It was a masterful performance.

We watched the Rachel Maddow/Keith Olbermann presentation last night. What fun! I love my president.

And hey, is Marsha Blackburn a former education administrator? She had that vocal tone they all seem to have...

Watching this performance was a lot like watching the old clips of JFK press conferences. You simply can't believe that the guy is SO smart, and SO articulate, and SO charming. Unbelievable.

I don't know Blackburn's background, but I do know that when she starts to speak I have this inexplicable urge to claw out my eyes.

Funny how he didn't use a teleprompter and yet the RepubliKans had to "read" their questions off a sheet of paper....probably faxed straight from the RNC.

Noticed that.

This is how bad it went for the Republicans: Fox was covering the event, no doubt expecting that the GOP would tear Obama to shreds. They cut away with more than 20 minutes remaining in the Q and A....

No teleprompter? And Michelle let him leave the house without one!?!?!

LOL! The RW is trying to spin this but even they seem half-hearted about it and half are blasting their own side. Oh, not that they trotted out lies about who's to blame about most of this, but about having the cameras there.

Heck, even one of the questions asked about why there weren't CSPAN cameras at the HCR meetings and they are the one pushing the 'transparency' meme. Guess the 'teleprompter' meme went out the window now as well. They don't have many left. They use false info and incorrect numbers and then expect that it might make them look like lesser fools than they are?

Laughed when I saw a post about Virginia Foxx's twitter where she blasted the President but ended by saying she'd got his autograph. Reminds me of those who rant back home about socialism and hitler and then dive for the aisle at the SOTU to get their picture taken with the 'socialist' President. Too funny.

Lets not leave out all the comments by the RW pundits claiming that Obama seemed 'angry' or 'defiant' at the SOTU. You know...not white...

Yeah, saw the Virginia Foxx thing. Hilarious. The RW got schooled on this one. They thought -- inexplicably -- that they were smart enough collectively to take on Obama, and, of course, they were wrong. No spin can undo it.
