My New Writing Toy

I've been meaning to post. Really I have. I had resolved to post everyday this week. But then I downloaded my new writing toy, and, well, it's made the gathering of my research for the new project much more fun. And it's kept me fro doing much else. The new toy is Scrivener, and I know many of you use it already. It's a mac-based program designed for writers who are piecing together a project and blending research information with story ideas. It's kind of hard to describe really. I've only had it for a few days. But I like it, and I'm finding it incredibly useful as I begin to pivot from research to writing.

More as I explore further.

I recently bought it, too, and am loving it. Congrats, and have fun.

Thanks, Jenn. The thing I like about it most is that whenever I think "Oh, how would I do this if I needed to?" it turns out to be the first way it occurs to me to do it, if you know what I mean. Totally intuitive.

It's the easiest program I've ever played with. I only have one complaint: I can't right-click to fix typos as a write like I can with every other Mac program I use. Still, it's amazing...

No, like Nisus Writer Pro, my word processor of choice, it is exclusively mac.

Yeah, Steve was the first person to tell me about it. The man has excellent judgement.

Ah. Glad you're liking it. After much hem-ing and hawing, I have made the move too.

Now you must go to Matias and get the keyboard.

Hmmm. More things to buy? I don't think so. But I do like the program.

Nein. This is not crass commercialism. This is a tool befitting a writer. You're just going to have to trust me on this. One day, when you're flush, make the jump. You won't regret it. ;)

I have to admit, it looks very cool. I kind of like my standard little mac keyboard, but I'll consider this one. Thanks.

And I really didn't mean to accuse you of crass commercialism....
